Pursuing Streaming Career Challenges

Streaming career is what many young gamers are trying to pursue these days, but right at the beginning they realize it's not all that simple as it seems. For pursuing a streaming career one must have more than just a good PC. Knowing streaming software, CPU, GPU, all the issues that can arise during the live stream in depth, how to set up lighting, remove background noise from their audio, as well as staying in the know when it comes to the streaming category. Let's start with basic things.

Number one thing you need to think about before you even set a streaming channel is channel title, and as that is usually streamer's name or nickname, you need to decide what suits you more. Gamers usually go for their nickname as that is something they are well recognized by in gaming circles, but thinking long term, you may start using your channel not only for streaming games, where your real name matters more than your gamer ID. Think about that well before you decide which you want to use, as that's what will affect the second step the most.

Second step would be your channel branding, which means cover, profile photo, theme of your stream overlays etc. That can be related to games you play, but as I mentioned earlier, always think long term, and the best thing is channel branding that spins around your channel name rather than specific games you play. Building up your channel's name as a brand is very important, and you want people by just visiting your channel right away to understand you are not only there to kill your time, but to provide quality content.

Next step is the channel trailer, for all those hours when you don't stream, or for new channel visitors. Try to say in a couple of words something about yourself that will attract new visitors to follow, subscribe, and visit your channel when you go live. Grab a few interesting, funny moments from your game plays, or a couple of clips presenting your top skills. If you can't afford to pay someone to edit videos or create trailers for you, then Wondershare DemoCreator will be the best tool for you. Capture video demos, tutorials, presentations, games and edit them quickly like a Pro. with Wondershare DemoCreator.

Write something about you, letting first time visitors get to know little about you, what games you play, and what they can expect to see on your channel if they follow or subscribe. Make it short and to the point. People come to streaming platforms to watch gamers play, not to spend their free time reading long descriptions. You can see an example here.

Work on your talking skills, playing games silently isn't what people want to watch. They want to see you get hype when you win, they want to hear you explain certain moves, choices, they want you to fill up the time when the game is loading, or while you are waiting in the lobby. The best way to learn how to talk is to start talking to yourself while playing games, the more you talk when you are playing alone, the easier it will be to talk when you start streaming. Even if you are shy, practice makes wonders, and words will keep flowing. Once you start streaming, make sure you can see the chat window, and reply if viewers ask something. Don't let chat distract you from keeping focus on the game, reply only when you can.

Make sure you have all the streaming gear ready. That means a good PC which can not only handle game play, but also streaming your game play, video cam, audio, and to keep recording, all at the same time.  Check out HP's weekly desktop deals as well as 5 best gaming laptops under $2,000 at HP.

Once all is ready,  time is to select streaming software. There are many, paid and free, but I will recommend OBS as that's totally free software, very simple to use and provides all the tools you need for setting up your streaming studio.

How to set streaming software to match your internet bandwidth, how to set audio and stream overlays, that will be a topic in the next article, so keep reading and wish you all the best with your streaming career.
